Since the age of eight Nina has received professional training in musical and classical voice. After playing various characters in different musical productions and giving many solo concerts, Nina decided to study musical theater. During her studies she learned the professional, proper use of her voice in both musical and belt singing. In additional to this she received classical voice lessons at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Hamburg.
After she moved to the Netherlands for studying speech therapy, Nina got interested in jazz music. She started studying jazz harmony and jazz singing. She got in contact with the local jazz scene and established a network with musicians.
Due to her history of studying different techniques and genres, she found her own way of singing, which combines musical with classic, jazz and acting.
Duo to mastering these different singing techniques, Nina is very flexible as a singer and currently works on various and varied projects, among others as jazz singer and tap-dancer in Nina and the Nashcats, on different instruments and voice in the duo JazzTuon and with her solo-program “Im Theater ist was los”.
After finishing her studies Nina went to New York City, USA, for half a year to study acting, jazz and musical theater. There she received acting lessons from Michael Ryan of the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, New York, also working on method acting. She also took voice lessons with various teachers of different genres, among others from Bruce Baumer, who taught her in musical and Beltvoice.
