When I was 14-years-old, I told myself I wanted to be an actor on screen, but I found myself in a pretty catch-22 situation. I needed the experience to get the acting work, but I needed the acting work to get the experience. So I decided to create my own short film and cast myself in it. This was the inspiration behind the 20-minute short film 'Never Alone' - but it became so much more than that. I wrote the film based on my own experiences of childhood bereavement and began the process of casting, crewing and filming. It was the most amazing experience and I was so surprised and honoured that it was selected for over 25 festivals and to be runner-up at the LA Film Awards for Best Young Filmmaker.

The following year, I made my second short film. A ten-minute short thriller 'Bea Before Me'. It was unlike anything I had ever done before, but I absolutely loved every second of it. This proved even more successful than my first short film and I was so lucky to win the festival award at the High Peak Indie Film Festival and Best Young Actor at the Birmingham Film Festival. It was my third short film 'Spiralling' the following year that I decided to create 'Dream Hive Films' officially.

2019 was probably my biggest filmmaking year to date. In the Summer, I created 'Spiralling' which was a huge passion project of mine to raise awareness of child trafficking. That September, I went down to Cornwall to shoot the concept short film for my WW2 feature 'Peace In Our Time' in pre-production. We had a cast & crew of 30, with 20 child actors all under the age of 13. We were so lucky to have the amazing living museum 'Flambards', we shot before opening hours from 5-9am and after closing hours from 5-9pm and it was, without a doubt, the most incredible set I've been on. The buzz was so amazing.

In the pipeline, I have 'A High Price for Ginger Beer', another period drama short set in 1901, shooting this autumn. Then, in April 2022, I will be directing my feature debut 'Sunshine Girl' in the USA. So it's all super exciting!
