'Drink up' is a short comedy based around a simple conversation between two friends over late night drinks, One character is Lanie, an over-loving, overthinking young woman caught in yet another existential spiral. Her companion is 'Jazz Cat', a scruffy street cat that drinks and smokes like a train and offers hard earned wisdom and advice from his cloud of mystery and nonchalance.
This fun and thoughtful comedy explores rambling human emotion and hard life truths through a ridiculous bundle of monologues. It draws inspiration from The might Boosh, Jim Jurmusch's 2003 film, 'Coffee and cigarettes', and Greta Gerwig's 'Frances Ha'.
'Jazz cat' will be played by a realistic cat puppet. The film will be made in lockdown and therefore I'm looking for an actor that would be willing to work remotely. This would include 1-2 rehearsals via zoom as well as performing from home.
Estimated time required: 1 day total.
