
Actors Required for Lead Roles in Dramatic Student Short Film 'Delivery'

Logline
A chance encounter helps a grieving father deal with the loss of his son.
Synopsis
Delivery is a dramatic short film about Eddie, a lonely father still grieving the recent loss of his son. When Daniel, a young pizza delivery driver shows up at his door mistakenly, Eddie is taken aback at the similarities the young man has to his late son.
Eddie begins ordering a pizza every night, just so he can see Daniel. As they form a connection, Eddie must choose whether to tell Daniel the real reason he has been ordering, and use it as a way of moving forward with his life. He knows if he does this, he risks losing Daniel as well.

The film will explore themes of grief and loneliness, as well as looking at human connection.
The set will be run in a safe and professional manner, and we will be following all COVID safe guidelines.
This will be unpaid, however catering and a professionally run shoot will be provided.
Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates
At this stage we are looking at filming 20th-23rd November. Location TBC.Auditions will be held via Zoom or self-taped from 2nd-11th November

Job payment
Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity - Student Film. All actors will get a copy of the film upon completion.
Expenses paid - Travel, Food
Collaborations should create mutual benefit and are usually amateur, student or 'Time for Print' projects.
Eddie, Protagonist.
Eddie is a retired, grieving father. Never good at expressing his emotions, the loss of his wife and son a year earlier has locked him into a lonely world where every small detail reminds him of his past. Like a turtle, Eddie has retreated into a hard shell that hides a soft heart. He knows he has to slowly move forward with his life, but he doesn’t know how.

Daniel, Other Main Character
Daniel is an upbeat part-time delivery driver, working nights to pay his way through a college degree. He has had to fend for himself most of his teenage life, but has a strong drive. He knows what it is like to be alone, and he has fought hard to move through that. He is personable and engaging, and he is able to make Eddie feel comfortable enough to open up. His kind and empathetic nature are qualities that Eddie once saw in his son.
