ABOUT: This is the story of the wife of one of Egypt's most famous people, Imhotep. Her life witnessed the construction of the first Egyptian pyramid, so she describes for us the world she comes from and reflects on her experience. This piece is centered around the resurrection of a form of Ancient Egyptian theatre surrounding the sistrum, a magic instrument sacred to the Goddess Hathor. It is going to be performed in a round space inside a tower in Scotland during the Edinburgh Festival '21. All it needs is a special person willing to take the plunge and bring this woman back to life.
ABOUT ME: I directed a version of this "one-man" show before in the Spring of '18. I am a writer and a director whose aim is to create work that colonizes the new space available to the theatre after the 4th wall is removed.
