SYNOPSIS:
Set in the world of London’s supported housing and psychiatric wards, the film tells the story of a young man who hears voices, and struggles to balance his medication, drug abuse and romantic desires.
BRIEF:
20 - 30 years but likely to be closer to the lower end of the age range.
Working class Londoner or immigrant. Open to any ethnicity e.g Afro Caribbean, Caucasian, Turkish, Mixed race etc.
A bit shy / introverted rather than super confident but can also be playful, funny and mischievous. Shouldn't be too tough or physically built.
Very into music - drill, trap, grime, dancehall, R’n’B and afrobeat. He likes to compose songs and has dreams of being a famous rapper or singer.
For this role, we are looking for an actor who is open to improvising and working collaboratively to create something really organic and authentic.
This is a film about mental health so we very much welcome all actors with relevant experiences, including psychosis, mania or being an in-patient on a psychiatric ward.
