About Star Now

The Star Now Team 2010

Star Now is an online casting and audition service designed to help casting professionals find talent.

With over 1.5 million registered members our Talent Directory features over 100,000 actors, extras, models, musicians, photographers, dancers and entertainers who are actively looking for opportunities.

Placing a casting call is free - we are not an agency, and we do not charge commissions. The only cost to use our site is a small monthly fee paid by Star Now talent in order to have an online CV and to apply to casting calls.

Company history

Star Now was launched in London in 2004. We now have a staff of 14 and have placed over 105,000 casting calls.

Our management, customer support, and technical team operate out of Wellington, New Zealand.

Meet some of the team

Cameron Mehlhopt - CEO

Cameron co-founded Star Now in 2004 after seeing an opportunity to help talented actors find opportunities. Cameron brings a diverse range of experience to Star Now - with a background in website development and software testing he has also acted as a judge for the Miss England competition.

Gemma Boyle - UK Casting Manager

Gemma has been working as the UK Casting Coordinator at StarNow since early 2009. As a performer herself, she loves working for a company that focuses on supplying aspiring talent with opportunities in the creative industries. She is an unashamed Barbra Streisand fan and is planning a nose job for 2010.

Kerina Deas - US Casting Manager

Kerina graduated with her Masters in Theatre Arts (Directing) and Bachelor of Performing Arts before joining the team at Star Now. She is passionate about helping aspiring talent in the US and Canada. Being trained for both on and behind the scenes, she knows the challenges both sides can face and is always ready to help wherever she can.

Jessica Manins - Australian / NZ Casting Manager

Jessica is the go to person in Australia and NZ. She’s very involved within the film and TV community and is always out finding new opportunities for talent. Jessica is a keen actress but don’t look for her in Lord of The Rings, she isn’t there.
